We live in Florida and summers reach some pretty hot temperatures. As a mom of a three year old and one year old, it is my job to keep my children protected from the sun and mosquitoes. That’s why I always take Babyganics® with me in my diaper bag and in our car. We pick our Babyganics products up at CVS.

Here is your guide to a healthy and happy day with your family outdoors.

Protect from Mosquitoes with Babyganics Natural Insect Repellent Wipes

Babyganics is all about baby freedom; about letting our little ones roam, discover and play, free to explore the world around while staying protected from mosquitoes. I don’t leave the house during the summer in Florida without Babyganics Natural Insect Repellent Wipes. Pesky mosquitoes? Babyganics has a DEET free choice blended with plant and essential oils (Citronella, Peppermint, Rosemary, Lemongrass & Geranium) repels mosquitoes, but smells great and is good for whole family.

I am very careful about what I put on my one and three year old’s skin. I chose Babyganics with their plant-based and other carefully crafted ingredients. It is important to me that they are cruelty free. They use non-synthetic fragrances and make their products with plant-based & other thoughtfully chosen ingredients that are hand-picked with little ones in mind.

Sunscreen

You already know about the importance of sunscreen so I don’t need to tell you just how crucial it is for your kids and for parents of course! It is so important to put it on before you head outside. I use Babyganics mineral sunscreen for my kids to protect them from the sun. It’s not greasy, and it’s tear free. Regardless of age, I always choose a sunscreen that’s broad-spectrum, meaning it blocks both UVA and UVB rays, with an SPF 30 at minimum.

It’s also free of pesky ingredients such as PABA, phthalates, parabens, fragrances and nano-particles.

Kids need sunscreen and rely on adults to apply it when they are too young to apply on themselves. I also try to avoid taking them outside during the sun’s peak hours. The sun’s rays are the strongest between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., which means everyone is better off playing outside in the early morning or late afternoon.

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate

I’ve learned that a good rule of thumb is that my kids should drink an 8-ounce glass of water for every year they are, up to eight years old. Children don’t always recognize that they’re thirsty, and if they’re not encouraged and reminded, may forget to drink. I make sure I always have a sippy cup for my kids while outside and encourage them to drink water. I always offer water with meals and snacks.

It can be helpful to infuse water with lemons, berries, or mint for some added flavor. Or freeze fruit inside ice cubes. Harper loves having her own special water bottle. Find out what works best for your family.
