5 Holiday Hosting Tips (Part 1)

Table of Contents

I love hosting over the holidays. Here are 5 inexpensive tips to make you the hostess with the mostess this holiday season.

Tip 1-Cranberry Vase

Starting off the series using my viral cylinder 😂 to make a cranberry vase! I simply added a smaller vase inside and filled it with fresh cranberries. You can fill it with fresh or faux flowers!

I bought 2 dozen roses at @publix for BOGO, cut them down (remove leaves as so they last longer), and used greenery from my trees outside and a few pieces of eucalyptus for height!

Tip 2-Simple Table Setting

Are you hosting Thanksgiving at your home this year or traveling? This napkin fold would work beautifully for the winter holidays as well.

This one is so easy.
Cloth napkin
Rosemary
Cinnamon stick
Twine

That’s it. You can set the place setting like normal or even wrap your silverware in this napkin.

Tip 3: Cinnamon Stick Candles

Candles-I bought a 3 pack for $4 at @michaelsstores
Cinnamon sticks- I bought a huge jar from @samsclub for $8
Natural jute twine- @michaelsstores less than $3 (plenty more left)

I gently tied the twine around the candle and added the cinnamon sticks as the gentle twine secured them in place. When I reached the end I added a second loop to tie it tight and then secured the first loop.

My way is removable but will stay in place as long as they are standing flat. If you want to make it permanent, hot glue or craft glue the cinnamon to the candles.

Tip 4: Easy Place Card Settings

Pine cones! Find them in your yard or buy them. Add a place card and a name and you’re done.

Tip 5: Cozy Socks

Welcome to episode 5 of easy & inexpensive hosting ideas to make you the hostess with the mostess this holiday season. Make your guests feel right at home and cozy when they visit your home by offering a basket of socks to wear. Or, if you are a shoes-off household or want to keep your wood floors shiny throughout the duration of dinner, provide your guests with cozy socks.

I place a basket on a chair so they can simply sit down, change into their socks and leave their shoes at the door. I found most of these for $3 at @target but I’m sure you can find them even cheaper elsewhere!
