Learn how to make a swoon-worthy DIY teepee
“You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them. Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud. Do not complain. Make every effort to change things you do not like. If you cannot make a change, change the way you have been thinking. You might find a new solution.”

I conducted extensive research with regard to the smash cake. I discovered that Publix will provide a free smash cake with the purchase of at least (1) half-sheet cake. If you order online and personalize “Happy 1st Birthday” on your cake design, Publix will automatically make a complimentary smash cake that closely resembles the cake you ordered. They will not give you a smash cake with the purchase of any other desserts, ie. cupcakes, etc. Publix’s complimentary smash cake has two layers, whereas

How to make a DIY Teepee
Materials
3 Wooden Dowels (I used 5/8 x 48 inches)
1 1/2 yards of lace
Garland with greenery and flowers
Twine
Safety Pins
I researched online the various ways people have constructed DIYteepee’s. You can use tulle, lace, individual flowers and greenery, cloth, PVC pipe, pom poms, etc. I chose wooden dowels, lace, and garland to make it simple and chic.
The dowel rods came from Amazon and went to JoAnn Fabrics for the lace. I found this particular fabric on sale in the wedding section. Don’t shy away about asking the folks cutting fabric for help. If you aren’t a regular sewer, aisles of fabric can be quite overwhelming. With help, it was the perfect fit.
The garland was available at Michaels in fall. I just loved the pink flowers and soft green leaves. Michaels has a large variety of faux flowers.
Instructions:
1.Tie the three rods together with twine in a pyramid shape. I used rubber bands at the very top to secure it a little better.
2. Unfold the lace and drape it over the dowels. Some of the instructions I read told you to cut a hole in the lace to drape over. I wanted to have the opportunity to reuse the fabric so I did not cut a hole
3. Secure the lace over the dowels with safety pins, tucking the lace around the dowels and pinning discretely
4. There are many ways to decorate your teepee but I found that it was easiest to purchase a single garland and drape in the front of the teepee. I secured the garland with small safety pins. Fabric wire would work just as well.
5. I didn’t like seeing the wooden dowel in the inner back so I took a couple of safety pins and wrapped the lace around and pinned in the back. You’re done!
