Lifestyle and Food Content Creator

About Me

Hi, ‘m Mackenzie Biehl, I live in Tallahassee Florida with my husband/BFF, hilarious and adorable toddler, Harper, and new sweet baby boy, Hudson. Besides working full time in senior healthcare, I’m an Instagram momfluencer, motherhood and lifestyle blogger, and passionate family content creator.

I started this blog as a creative outlet for some of my passions beyond my “day job.” I watched my daughter learn something new and develop brand new skills every day. It was so inspiring and it’s made me realize that this little piece of the internet was just what I needed to work through the rough edges of senior healthcare.

I feel a buzz when I blog. The thrill of creating a resource for someone really excites me. I’ve always wanted to help people by offering a sounding ear and purposeful advice.

I’ve been thinking, really digging deep, to how I could best serve my readers. I’m hoping to enjoy a long, grand blogging journey. I want to meet people who will inspire me. I work in a field with a lot of stress and sadness. I want to remain inspired so I can continue to motivate my kids and husband. I want to write in such a way that I actually help you. I will to inspire you to do more, feel better, maybe even help with some pains.

I want to make connections who may give me an even larger and greater outlook on life.

I know there are a lot of bloggers out there in 2020. But I think there is room for everyone. And there are a lot of “mommy bloggers”, writing about parenting, pregnancy, lifestyle; but maybe, my reviews, my stories, can be a game-changer for someone. Maybe that person is you.

I’ve chronicled this blog as a creative outlet representative of my family life in Tallahassee, Florida. Thanks for your support and for following along.

About Josh

My name is Josh Hellstrom and I am a father of three beautiful daughters, Mackenzie, Alexa, and Carly and extremely proud of these women and happy they have found really good significant others.  I am also a grandfather with two amazing grandchildren, Harper and Hudson (Mackenzie and Taylor’s babies) who are living in Tallahassee, FL a mere 150 miles away.  And I have been married to my wife Leslie for 34 years and love my life with her.

I am incredibly grateful to have great friends and pretty darn good health. I still love and enjoy water sports, but particularly stand up paddle boarding and surfing and have loved my surf trips to Central American with my old amigos.  After years of coaching indoor volleyball, I took up playing beach volleyball at 56 years old and nothing quite brings me joy quite like beating 25-year olds in the game.  I also love to hike and completed the 486-mile Colorado Trail in 2015.  I have summited a dozen 14ers in Colorado and will never tire of the feeling of the summit views and celebrating the accomplishment with family and friends.

And I am a dog-guy.  I have brother/sister mixed breed dogs, Rocky and Sophie, one blind and one gimpy, who keep me walking every single day. I also have three grand dogs, who are my best buds.

I taught high school and middle school for 11 years, and then started a home inspection business which has kept me self-employed for the last 23 years.  I have a very simple work creed.  Work hard.  Be honest.  And be kind.  It has worked for me.

I am also a cancer survivor (Non-Hodgkins lymphoma) in 2015 and I am forever grateful to doctors at the Florida Cancer Specialists and modern medicine for taking such good care of me.

I have volunteered in the US Virgin Islands and Florida panhandle doing hurricane relief work with All Hands and Hearts and loved those experiences.  I also love photography and enjoy writing.  I hope to impart on my girls and grandchildren the simple joys;  To breathe and enjoy family;  to take in the outdoors; to push yourself;  to work hard, be honest, and be kind.  And to recognize the positive and negative energy in this world and gravitate toward the positive energy.   Simple and good stuff.
